DEADLINE REMINDER: Public Comment needed for proposed One Stop Plans for the November 8th, 2016 Presidential Election

    The Beaufort County Board of Elections is requesting input from the public on proposed One Stop Plans for the November 8th, 2016 Presidential Election.

    The Beaufort County Board of Elections is required to operate One Stop Voting for 195 hours during the one stop period prior to the election. Three proposed plans have been offered for public input. Summaries of those plans are as follows:

    Option 1: 198.5 Hours

    Extended Office Hours at the Board of Elections Office, 7:30 am to 6:30 pm Monday through Saturday and last Saturday from 7:30 to 1:00 pm. 3 Satellite Offices (Aurora, Belhaven, and Chocowinity) the last Wednesday through Friday of the period 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and last Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

    Option 2: 210 Hours

    Extended Office Hours at the Board of Elections Office, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and last Saturday from 8:00 to 1:00 pm. 3 Satellite Offices (Aurora, Belhaven, and Chocowinity) the Tuesday through Friday of the period 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and last Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

    Option 3: 200 Hours

    Normal Office Hours at the Board of Elections Office, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday and last Saturday from 8:00 to 1:00 pm. 3 Satellite Offices (Aurora, Belhaven, and Chocowinity) the last Thursday and Friday of the period 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and last Saturday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

    Public comment should be emailed to Beaufort.boe@co.beaufort.nc.us and will be considered at the canvass meeting for the June 7th, 2016 Congressional Primary meeting to be held on June 14th, 2016, at 11:00 am at the Board of Elections Office at 1308 Highland Drive, Suite 104, Washington, North Carolina.

    All comments will be taken into consideration. The Board does reserve the right to alter any of the options presented if public comment presents issues that warrant changes or plans other than those posted. The meeting is open to the public and all are welcome. Emailed comments will be immediately forwarded to each board member and presented during the meeting.
